On November 30, 2017 Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson submitted a Report to the State Legislature titled “State Agency Audits, Inspections, and Enforcement Actions Affecting Small Businesses in Washington State.” The Report:

  1. Describes the audit, inspection and enforcement authorities of the six named state agencies;
  2. Includes a summary of the legal rights and protections provided to small businesses subject to inspection, audit or enforcement action by those agencies;
  3. Discusses the way in which agencies communicate information about those rights or protections to business owners prior to or at the time of agency action; and
  4. Lists recommendations to better delineate, and improve notice of, those rights and protections.

This Report was developed in response to House Bill 1352 adopted by the Washington State Legislature in 2017.
