OLYMPIA —The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) today announced the filing of three separate complaints in Thurston County Superior Court: one against state Representative Strom Peterson, one against former candidate for 42nd Legislative District representative Sharlaine LaClair, and one against state Representative Jeff Morris. The complaints allege deficient campaign finance filings.
OLYMPIA — Attorney General Bob Ferguson today filed a campaign finance lawsuit against Tim Eyman, alleging improper personal use of $308,000 in contributions made to political committees, concealment of contributions totaling $490,185 and misleading reporting. The lawsuit also accuses for-profit signature gathering firm Citizen Solutions of participating in a scheme to conceal campaign money the company funneled to Eyman.

OLYMPIA — In a letter opinion, a Thurston County Superior Court judge today ordered the Grocery Manufacturers Association to pay nearly $1.1 million in costs and fees stemming from Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s campaign finance lawsuit. GMA has previously been penalized $18 million for its intentional violations of Washington law, the largest campaign finance judgment in history.
OLYMPIA —The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) announced the resolution of two campaign finance cases today. Eastern Washington University trustee Jay Manning failed to timely file two financial disclosures after his appointment and will pay $4,812.50. Audubon Washington failed to timely file independent expenditure reports for work on a TVW video voters’ guide and will pay $4,390.
OLYMPIA — In an action brought by the Attorney General’s Office, Secretary of State Kim Wyman will pay the state $10,115 over her campaign’s failure to timely file contribution and expenditure disclosure reports and timely deposit contributions. Attorney General Bob Ferguson is recused and was screened from any involvement in the matter.
OLYMPIA —The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) announced that it filed a complaint in Thurston County Superior Court today alleging campaign finance violations by Teresa Purcell, a former legislative candidate for the 19th Legislative District, and her political committee. Specifically, the AGO alleges that Purcell failed to timely report debts and obligations as they were incurred, instead filing reports only when the invoices were paid — potentially months late — as well as failure to report complete information for 42 contributors.
OLYMPIA —The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) announced that it filed two separate complaints in Thurston County Superior Court today, alleging campaign finance violations by the Washington State Budget and Policy Center and a 2016 candidate for the Thurston County Board of Commissioners.
OLYMPIA — A Thurston County judge today ordered an Iowa organization and its belatedly registered political committee to pay $319,281 in penalties, plus costs and fees in Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s campaign finance disclosure lawsuit.
