OLYMPIA — Attorney General Bob Ferguson today called on the United States Senate to take action on a Supreme Court nominee when presented by President Barack Obama. The request for timely consideration came in a letter signed by 21 attorneys general from around the country.

OLYMPIA — Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced that his office filed an amicus — or “friend of the court” — brief late Tuesday asking the U.S. Supreme Court to allow President Barack Obama’s 2014 immigration reforms to move forward after prolonged legal delays.

OLYMPIA — The U.S. Supreme Court today agreed to hear a case that could allow President Barack Obama’s 2014 executive actions to reform our country’s immigration system finally to move forward. In Washington alone, about 105,000 people could move into the legal workforce if President Obama’s plan took effect, increasing the state’s tax revenues by an estimated $57 million over the next five years.

SEATTLE — Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced that the State will file a Motion for Reconsideration with the Washington Supreme Court in the case of League of Women Voters of Wash. v. State. The decision not only invalidates Initiative 1240, but also unnecessarily calls into question the constitutionality of a wide range of other state educational programs. These important programs range from Running Start to Washington State Skills Centers that provide career and technical education to high school students.

SEATTLE —The Supreme Court of Washington today held that the City of SeaTac’s $15-an-hour minimum wage applies to workers at SeaTac airport, relying in part on arguments made by the office of Attorney General Bob Ferguson.  The state was not a party to the lawsuit but made the arguments in an amicus — or “friend of the court” — brief filed in the case.
