FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

SPOKANE – The Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) announced today that Paige Clark of Spokane pleaded guilty to one count of Medicaid False Statement.

Clark was charged last year with two Medicaid fraud-related crimes. According to investigators, she billed the joint federal and state program more than $7,000 over a six-month period in 2007, for care she said she provided to a Medicaid recipient. The state submitted evidence that disputed those billings, charging Clark for misleading the Medicaid program for financial gain.

As part of a plea agreement reached Wednesday, Clarke was sentenced to five days of home detention and must pay $7,180 in restitution and $800 in legal fees.

The MFCU prosecution team consists of Assistant Attorney General Dannette Allen, investigator Amy Rose and legal assistants Margo Loree and Darcie McMullen.
