Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced today that a federal judge in Spokane barred the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) from doing anything to reduce the availability of the medication abortion drug mifepristone in Washington, 16 other states and the District of Columbia. The states sued the FDA over access to the drug.

SEATTLE — Today Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced the recovery of $35 million and counting as a result of his lawsuit over price-fixing on chicken products. Fourteen of the 19 chicken producers named in the lawsuit paid $35 million to resolve claims against them. OLYMPIA — Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced today that more than three-quarters of Washingtonians in a statewide poll indicated they support the personal health data protections in the My Health My Data Act. Ferguson is partnering with Rep. Vandana Slatter, D-Bellevue and Sen. Manka Dhingra, D-Redmond, to propose the legislation, which passed the House on March 4, in a 57-39 vote. SEATTLE — Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced today that a King County judge found Federal Way Discount Guns and its owner in contempt of court in Ferguson’s ongoing lawsuit over the retailer unlawfully selling high-capacity magazines. Ferguson filed an enforcement action against Federal Way Discount Guns in December 2022 and the next month the court issued a preliminary injunction blocking the store from selling high-capacity magazines.
A bill to ensure that gun manufacturers and dealers — like other purveyors of dangerous goods — must take reasonable steps to prevent their products from getting into the hands of dangerous individuals passed the state Senate today by a 28-21 vote.
OLYMPIA — With a bipartisan 64-31 vote, the state House passed a bill to ensure a utility operator cannot shut off Washingtonians’ power or water when the National Weather Service issues a heat-related warning or alert. The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration.
