MEDIA ADVISORY – McKenna to visit Chelan and Wenatchee Wednesday

SEATTLE – Attorney General Rob McKenna will visit Central Washington on Wednesday, Jan. 11, for two “Operation: Allied Against Meth” presentations in Chelan and a tour of Wellness Place in Wenatchee.

McKenna will start his day with visits to Chelan High School and Chelan Middle School with the anti-meth group, Lead-On America. The visits are part of a series of presentations by McKenna and Lead-On America to urge young people to stay away from methamphetamine.

WHAT: “Operation: Allied Against Meth” presentations with Lead-On America

WHEN AND WHERE:
  • 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. at Chelan High School
  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Chelan Middle School

Later in the day, McKenna will tour Wellness Place to view the cancer center’s recent building renovation made possible by a $6,280 settlement grant from McKenna’s office. The grant is a portion of a multi-state settlement with drug maker Bristol-Myers Squibb, which developed and marketed the late-stage cancer drug Taxol.
