Washington State

Office of the Attorney General

Attorney General

Bob Ferguson

The Attorney General's Office provides information and informal complaint resolution services to consumers and businesses.  You may file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office either online or by mail:  http://www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.

The Attorney General cannot act as your private attorney. If your complaint needs immediate legal action, you should consider private legal action in Small Claims Court (no attorney necessary) if your claim is under $5,000.  You can find more information about Small Claims Court here.  If your complaint involves more than $5,000, you may want to contact a private attorney.  If your problem involves substantial continuing problems with warranty repairs to a new car, you may be eligible for arbitration through Washington’s Lemon Law.
