Eligibility of persons between the ages of 18 and 21 to serve in various positions

There is no statute barring a person over 18 years of age but less than 21 years of age from serving as a law enforcement officer, a prison guard, a firefighter, or a paramedic, provided that the person otherwise meets all qualifications for the job in question.

The Department of Social and Health Services is authorized by the provisions of RCW 43.20A.220, RCW 72.01.050 and RCW 72.64.050, to convert the Cedar Creek Youth Camp from a juvenile facility into a minimum security honor camp for adults.
