Washington residents have filed 2,000 complaints about DIRECTV with our office.  Now those consumers can find some relief under a settlement to be filed Thursday in King County Superior Court.

Washington became the first state to sue DIRECTV, the nation’s largest satellite television company, over allegations of unfair business practices a year ago. The new settlement includes a $1 million payment to the Attorney General’s Office for legal fees, restitution for consumers and better advertising disclosures.Meanwhile, a group of other attorneys general reached a separate settlement with DIRECTV that extends similar protections for residents of those states.
