Attorney General

Good news for low-income folks in need of legal help. The Northwest Justice Project, the largest statewide legal aid program in Washington, will open three new offices in Port Angeles, Aberdeen, and Longview to serve residents of Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor, Pacific, Wahkiakum and Cowlitz counties. The communities lack meaningful access to civil legal services, say folks associated with the Equal Justice Coalition. Also, NJP’s legal aid advice and referral hotline (1-888-201-1014) – called CLEAR – will be extended to King County for the first time since its creation more than 10 years ago.

NJP provides civil legal services at 10 other offices statewide. The organization doesn’t handle criminal problems; you’ll need your own attorney or a public defender for that.

Port Angles residents can join the celebration during an open house at noon Friday, Sept. 28, at 816 E. 8th St.
