There’s a new Washington driver’s license on the way to help protect you from identity theft.
Your main mug will be on the left, instead of the right. And you’ll have a Mini Me – a smaller, shaded photo on the right. The Department of Licensing says those changes will make it tougher to fake an ID.
The agency is also expanding the use of facial recognition software, already in use in the Enhanced Driver License program, to regular licenses. The program creates facial “templates,” described as “a digital representation of the relative locations of facial features that aren’t easy to alter, such as eye sockets, cheekbones, and sides of the mouth.”
