Statement from Washington State Attorney General’s Office Communications Director Peter Lavallee:  "I want to set the record straight:  Contrary to any insinuation by the Kim Wyman campaign, Attorney General Bob Ferguson played no role in the decision, the substance or the filing of today’s campaign-finance complaint.  Career Attorney General’s Office legal staff made those calls.

Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced the filing of campaign finance complaints against Tim Eyman, three political committees, and their officers and treasurer. The AG alleges that shoddy accounting practices and improper disclosure of the source of funds for the committees and their ads violated Washington law.

OLYMPIA — In an action brought by the Attorney General’s Office, the Washington State Labor Council (WSLC) will pay the state $16,622 over the organization’s failure to timely and properly file lobbyist employer reports of in-kind and cash contributions, as required under the state’s campaign finance laws.

OLYMPIA — The Attorney General’s Office today announced the filing of a complaint in Pierce County Superior Court alleging campaign finance violations by Port of Tacoma officials, the Economic Development Board of Tacoma-Pierce County (“the EDB”), and the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce (“the Chamber”).

OLYMPIA — Granting a request from Attorney General Bob Ferguson, a Snohomish County Superior Court judge today ruled that Tim Eyman and his political committees violated her June 29 order by failing to meet the court-ordered deadline for disclosing documents in the Attorney General’s campaign finance probe.

OLYMPIA — Attorney General Bob Ferguson is asking a Snohomish County Superior Court judge to hold Tim Eyman and his political committees in contempt for failing to meet the court-ordered deadline for disclosing documents in the Attorney General’s campaign finance probe. A similar motion regarding for-profit signature gathering firm Citizen Solutions will be filed later today in Thurston County.

OLYMPIA — A Thurston County judge today granted Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s request to enforce subpoenas issued in the investigation of for-profit signature gathering firm Citizen Solutions, in connection with the AG’s investigation of the firm, as well as Tim Eyman, his political committees and his for-profit company.
