OLYMPIA -- Secretary of State Sam Reed and Attorney General Rob McKenna urge citizens to watch out for scam artists playing off legitimate charitable efforts following the tragic shootings at Virginia Tech.
SEATTLE – Attorney General Rob McKenna today announced lawsuits against Veterans of Western Washington, Blind Children Services of Puget Sound and four individuals connected with those organizations.

SEATTLE – Attorney General Rob McKenna today encouraged Washington residents to support disaster relief in the wake of Hurricane Katrina but also cautioned them to be on the lookout for charity scams, including bogus solicitations by e-mail and phone.
SEATTLE – While citizens are encouraged to consider giving generously to tsunami-relief efforts, the Attorney General’s Office today advised doing some research to make sure the relief money is going to organizations that will use the donations effectively.
