Consumer protection bills alive, too; property rights bills die without a hearing OLYMPIA — Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna’s law enforcement bills have survived the first major hurdle of the 2010 legislative process.
OLYMPIA — Families who have lost their homes due to an inability to pay their property taxes are being targeted by individuals who want to take the little money they have left after the foreclosure sale. Legislation proposed by the Attorney General’s Office aims to protect these families from scammers and help them keep as much of their money as possible.
OLYMPIA – Two of Attorney General Rob McKenna’s public safety bills will receive public hearings Tuesday.

SEATTLE – She was crowned Miss Washington in 2007. A year later, the young woman from Wapato, Wash., placed third in the 2008 Miss America Pageant. Yet, Elyse Umemoto felt defeated. That’s because, like tens of thousands of Washington residents every year, Elyse’s successes were marred by a recent episode of domestic violence.
GRAND MOUND – Proving that you don’t have to give in to fit in, Washington teens wowed their peers and adult mentors with clever marketing campaigns, peer support programs and even hip-hop aimed at preventing youth drug and alcohol abuse, violence and other destructive behaviors.
OLYMPIA – As state legislators prepare to head home, Attorney General Rob McKenna was gratified that many of his consumer protection, community safety, and open government priorities had been approved by the Legislature. Some have already been signed into law and others await the Governor’s signature.
Olympia – Attorney General Rob McKenna will recognize the courage of domestic violence survivors as special guest speaker at the 7th Annual Domestic Violence Survivor’s Recognition Day at 4 p.m. today at the Harrison Street Gallery at the Seattle Center.
