SEATTLE — Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced Washington has reached an agreement in principle Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation’s kickback scheme to promote its drug, Exjade. The final agreement is pending execution by the company, and would provide Washington with $1.2 million in Medicaid reimbursement, which will be shared with the federal government.

VANCOUVER — Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced a civil lawsuit against CareOne Dental Corporation, its owner, Dr. Liem Do, and his wife, Dr. Phuong-Oanh Tran, for alleged Medicaid fraud. CareOne is a dental services provider with four offices in Washington, including two located in Vancouver.

OLYMPIA — A new joint legislative audit report encourages the Legislature to renew its Medicaid False Claims Act (FCA), noting its highly effective use by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) in the three years since its original passage. Allonce is sentenced to six months in jail, the most time allowed for this 16-year-old crime.
