FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

OLYMPIA -- Attorney General Rob McKenna today announced new division chiefs for the Ecology and Transportation and Public Construction (TPC) divisions of the Office of the Attorney General.

Mary Sue Wilson was selected to head the Ecology Division and Bryce Brown was promoted to lead the TPC division.

Wilson is a Senior Assistant Attorney General who has served as chief of the Fish, Wildlife and Parks Division since 2004. Prior to that, she worked for 14 years in the Ecology Division as an assistant attorney general and section manager, earning the Outstanding AGO Leader award from her peers at least three times. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Gonzaga University School of Law and joined the Attorney General’s Office in 1990.

"Mary Sue is highly regarded for her deep legal knowledge and her outstanding management skills," McKenna said. "Her hard-working, yet objective, management style is a good fit for this leadership role and her background with the office makes her a logical choice for this position."

Brown also graduated Magna Cum Laude from Gonzaga University School of Law. He has worked in the Transportation and Public Construction Division since joining the AG’s office in 1991, serving as lead attorney for the Northwest Region of the state Department of Transportation from 1997 to 2002 and as team leader for the TPC Advice Team from 2002 until the present.

"Bryce has distinguished himself as a leader with the deep substantive legal knowledge we need to lead the TPC division," McKenna said. "His 14 years of experience within the division gives him valuable background and perspective to lead the other attorneys and staff."

McKenna interviewed several highly qualified candidates from both within the Attorney General’s Office and from the private sector.

"The fact that the interview process was so competitive speaks volumes about the high quality legal professionals who work for the Attorney General’s Office," McKenna said. "I continue to be impressed by the dedication, drive and passion for public service I see in the individuals who work in our office. It’s no wonder we’re known as one of the best public law firms in the country."
