SEATTLE — In light of the United States Supreme Court’s announcement today that it will review marriage-equality cases from four states, Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson issued the following statement:

“I am confident that the U.S. Supreme Court will agree with the overwhelming majority of federal courts that have upheld marriage equality,” said Attorney General Ferguson.  “Our nation and our state were founded on the ideal of equal rights for all. As Attorney General, I am firmly committed to protecting those rights for all Washingtonians, and I will ensure that Washington’s interest in preserving marriage equality is vigorously represented before the Supreme Court.”
