OLYMPIA — A Thurston County Superior Court judge ruled today that Tim Eyman has committed more than 100 violations of multiple Washington state campaign finance laws by concealing $766,447 in political contributions. Eyman faces significant potential penalties which will be determined in July.

AG Ferguson, Governor Inslee joint legislation protecting domestic workers passes House with bipartisan support
The Washington State House of Representatives today passed Attorney General Bob Ferguson and Gov. Jay Inslee’s joint legislation protecting domestic workers. It passed by a bipartisan, 59-39 vote. It now moves to the Senate for consideration.

Federal government opposes retired Washington judges weighing in on impact of courthouse arrests to support AG Ferguson’s lawsuit
Attorneys for the federal government are attempting to block a federal judge from considering a friend of the court brief written by more than a dozen retired Washington state judges and two former state Supreme Court justices. The judges’ brief supports Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s lawsuit challenging the Trump Administration’s unlawful practice of seizing immigrants in and near Washington courthouses, even when those individuals are at the courthouse to serve as witnesses or to conduct ordinary business like renewing their car tabs.

Today, the Washington state Senate passed Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s proposal to repeal Washington’s death penalty in a bipartisan 28-18 vote. This is the third time in as many years that the Senate has passed Ferguson’s bill, which will formally end the practice after the Washington State Supreme Court found the state’s method of applying the death penalty unconstitutional.

This unlawful rule would affect more than 200,000 Washingtonians and cause many to inadvertently fail to pay their premiums in full, jeopardizing their health coverage.

Victory for Puget Sound: Navy signs legally enforceable agreement to stop polluting Puget Sound with ship scrapings, take steps to prevent additional environmental damage
Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced a court order requiring the U.S. Navy to stop scraping the hulls of decommissioned ships in a way that releases metals and other contaminants into Sinclair Inlet near Bremerton. The Navy must also begin a multi-million dollar project to reverse the environmental damage caused by scraping decades of marine buildup off the hull of a ship.
