Procurador General Ferguson demanda a operador del Centro de Detención del Noroeste por violaciones salariales
TACOMA — El Procurador General Bob Ferguson anunció hoy una demanda en contra de The GEO Group, Inc. (GEO), el segundo proveedor de cárceles privadas más grande del país, por no pagar el salario mínimo a sus trabajadores, lucrando millones en ganancias ilícitas. La demanda del estado solicita al tribunal que ordene a la compañía a renunciar a estas ganancias.

AG Ferguson sues operator of the Northwest Detention Center for wage violations
TACOMA — Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced a lawsuit against The GEO Group, Inc. (GEO), the second-largest private prison provider in the country, for not paying its workers the minimum wage, netting the company millions in ill-gotten profits. The state’s lawsuit asks the court to order the company to give up these profits.

AG Ferguson recovers nearly $750k in Medicaid funds from pharma company
Attorney General Bob Ferguson recovered nearly $750,000 in Medicaid reimbursement this week from pharmaceutical company Celgene Corporation for promoting medications to treat conditions they were not approved for, including certain types of cancer. The company is also accused of paying kickbacks to doctors for prescribing the medications and helping them change billing codes to ensure Medicaid would pay for their use.

Attorney General Ferguson’s military pro bono legislation passes Legislature
OLYMPIA — Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s proposal to establish a clearinghouse to connect current and former service members in Washington state to pro bono legal service providers passed the Senate today in an overwhelming, bipartisan 95-0 vote. House Bill 1055 is sponsored by Rep. Christine Kilduff, D–University Place. Sen. Steve O’Ban, R–Pierce County, is the prime sponsor of its companion, Senate Bill 5021.
