AG Ferguson: With historic House vote, Legislature bans sale of high-capacity magazines in Washington
OLYMPIA — Today, the Washington state Legislature passed Attorney General Request legislation sponsored by Sen. Marko Liias, D-Lynnwood, banning the sale of high-capacity magazines in Washington. The bill passed the Legislature after a historic 55-42 vote in the House of Representatives. It heads to the governor’s desk to be signed into law.

Grocery Manufacturers Association apologizes for campaign finance violations, will pay $9 million and drop challenge to Washington campaign finance law
OLYMPIA — As a result of Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s successful campaign finance lawsuit, the former Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), now known as the Consumer Brands Association, will pay $9 million and apologize for its intentional violations of Washington’s campaign finance law. The payment will include a $3 million donation to organizations that address food insecurity in Washington. Food Lifeline and Northwest Harvest will each receive $1.5 million as a result of the resolution.

AG Ferguson files lawsuit against Swedish, other Providence-affiliated hospitals, for failing to make charity care accessible to thousands of Washingtonians
Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced today a consumer protection lawsuit against five Swedish hospitals and nine Providence-affiliated facilities for failing to ensure that eligible low-income Washingtonians receive the discounts to which they are legally entitled, and aggressively collecting money from charity care eligible low-income Washingtonians.

AG Ferguson: Center for COVID Control blocked from operating testing centers in Washington while case continues
Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced that his office obtained a preliminary injunction in a case against Illinois-based testing company Center for COVID Control. Under the order, the court blocked the company from providing COVID-19 testing services or collect consumer health information in Washington while the case is litigated.

Washington Senate passes legislation to ban sale of high-capacity magazines in historic vote
Today, the Washington state Senate passed Attorney General Request legislation sponsored by Sen. Marko Liias, D-Lynnwood, banning the sale of high-capacity magazines in Washington by a 28-20 vote. The bill prohibits the sale of magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds. This is the sixth session the Attorney General has proposed this legislation. Today’s vote marks the first time a limit on magazine capacity has passed a chamber of the Washington Legislature.

AG Ferguson files civil rights lawsuit against Wenatchee veterans nonprofit and its CEO for sexually harassing at least 12 women
WENATCHEE — Attorney General Bob Ferguson filed a civil rights lawsuit today against a Wenatchee veterans nonprofit and its founder and CEO regarding discrimination and sexual harassment. The nonprofit and CEO discriminated against and harassed at least 12 women who worked at or visited the nonprofit’s two thrift stores, the Veterans Warehouse Thrift Store in Wenatchee, and the Veterans Thrift Store in Kennewick.

House passes AG Ferguson, Rep. Simmons bill to ensure that 4 million Washingtonians get help with their hospital bills
The Washington state House has passed Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s bill to increase access to affordable health care for millions of Washingtonians by a bipartisan 63-33 vote. The measure now heads to the Senate for consideration.
