Legislative reduction of the terms of office of current members of the Washington State Liquor Control Board does not infringe upon a right of the members to a continuation of salary for the balance of the terms for which they were originally appointed.

When the boundaries of director districts within a second class school district are rearranged as provided in RCW 28.57.050 (7), and as a consequence two school district directors now reside in a single director district (as newly defined) and none resides in an adjoining director district (as newly defined) the next director to be elected as provided by law must be a resident of the director district from which the director whose term had expired was nominated.

The four year term of office of a municipal court judge commences upon the day of certification of the election by the proper canvassing authority.

Judges for the regular and original full four-year term for all offices of superior court judge are to be elected at the general election in November, 1952, and such term of office will begin on the second Monday in January, 1953.  If an incumbent superior court judge holds office as an appointee of the Governor to fill a vacancy resulting from the creation of an additional judgeship, there is also a short term for the period from the date of the November, 1952, general election to the beginning of the regular term in January, 1953, to which a candidate may be elected.

In view of statutory authority therefor mayor may remove at pleasure police judge (who has no fixed term) of city of third class although such officer is a justice of the peace.  Salary in excess of compensation as justice of the peace may be increased or diminished when annual budget is fixed by council.
