Other Languages(1) No person who is not a precinct committeeman or precinct committeewoman (a member of the county central committee) may vote at an election for officers of the county central committee. (2) A person whose permanent residence is in one precinct within a county cannot be appointed as a precinct committeeman for another precinct. (3) It is not necessary that the state committeeman or state committeewoman be members of the county central committee unless the rules and regulations adopted by the political party requires the same.
A proposal to require political party county central committees to nominate persons to fill legislative vacacies from a list submitted by the precinct committeemen of a legislative district involved will require a constitutional amendment.
Under RCW 29.36.030, as amended by § 1, chapter 73, Laws of 1974, 1st Ex. Sess., absentee votes may not be cast for the office of precinct committeeman unless two or more candidates have filed for the same political party in the absentee voter's precinct.
1. (a) A person who has filed for the office of precinct committeeman and has received highest vote is entitled to a certificate of election from the county auditor. (b) When there is no filing for the office of precinct committeeman, but one person receives the highest number of write‑in votes, such person is entitled to a certificate of election. (c) In case of a tie vote for the office of precinct committeeman, the county auditor shall determine by lot which candidate shall be declared elected.
