Register now for Dec. 14 conference for attorneys and business leaders

SEATTLE – Attorney General Rob McKenna and the Washington State Bar Association are sponsoring a one-day conference to help businesses meet the challenge of safeguarding consumer information in the age of data breaches and identity theft. Learn from front-line experts about how to prevent and respond to information security breaches.

Corporate counsel, business leaders and chief security officers are encouraged to register now for the Attorney General’s third annual Responsible Corporate Leadership in Washington State conference scheduled for Dec. 14 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle.

Attorney General Rob McKenna, Puget Sound Energy CEO Steve Reynolds and Edge Wireless CEO Wayne Perry will speak in the morning. The remainder of the day includes panels consisting of representatives from Providence Healthcare Services, Expedia, Washington Mutual, Amazon.com, University of Washington Law School, Perkins Coie, Davis Wright Termaine, and the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division.

Experts will discuss how to manage and prevent data breaches, legislation and regulation that affect businesses, personal and financial safety online, client confidentiality, and how businesses can help fight fraud.

Attorneys who participate will receive Continuing Legal Education credits. The cost to attend is $199 and registration is required.
