Your Rights as a Veteran in Washington

Military service members and veterans deserve to receive the full slate of benefits and protections they have earned. Federal and state laws extend certain rights and benefits to veterans and service members, including, for example, laws to help avoid credit and foreclosure problems, and laws to protect against discrimination in employment and housing. Veterans and service members may also be entitled to health care, education, and other benefits.

Many of the benefits and protections available to military service members and veterans are highlighted in the Attorney General's "Your Rights as a Veteran in Washington" guide. The guide summarizes in one place some of the many legal rights, protections, and resources that are available to Washington’s veterans.
