AG Brown asks court to enforce order preventing FEMA from unlawfully cutting disaster preparedness funding

Attorney General Nick Brown and a multistate coalition today filed a motion asking the District Court of Massachusetts to enforce its order prohibiting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) from terminating the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities Program (BRIC) and directing the agency to promptly take all steps necessary to reverse the termination.  
 

AG Brown condemns EPA’s illegal rescission of greenhouse gas pollution endangerment finding

Attorney General Nick Brown issued the following statement today in response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) final rule rescinding the 2009 Endangerment Finding, which determined that greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles contribute to air pollution that drives climate change and endangers public health and welfare.

Multistate coalition protects about $1.4 billion in K-12 funding for Washington

Attorney General Nick Brown and a coalition of 18 other attorneys general have secured an agreement with the U.S. Department of Education that protects about $1.4 billion funding equal access to education for students from low-income families, English learners, children with disabilities, and other students in Washington state.

AG’s office sues illegal gambling apps that have taken more than $225 million from Washingtonians

Attorney General Nick Brown filed a lawsuit Tuesday against several companies that operate unlicensed electronic gambling applications (casino apps) which have taken more than $225 million from Washingtonians since September 2020. The main companies, Playtika and Aristocrat, do not have licenses to operate their gambling apps in Washington, yet combined they operate 16 apps that more than 150,000 Washingtonians use to engage in gambling activities every month.
