The Attorney General’s Office has now issued guidance to help employers meet their new legal obligations under the Immigrant Worker Protection Act. La Oficina del Procurador General ha publicado una guía para ayudar a los empleadores a cumplir con las nuevas obligaciones legales bajo la Ley de Protección para Trabajadores Inmigrantes.

Ahead of the state Immigrant Worker Protection Act taking full effect on Oct. 1, the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) is providing guidance and materials to help employers meet obligations under the law.

Washington joins FTC lawsuit alleging Amazon inflated ad pricing

A new lawsuit filed today by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and 22 states, including Washington, alleges that Amazon has for years artificially inflated the prices of ads on its e-commerce platform and misrepresented how the company sets ad prices.

“Many small business owners in Washington rely on Amazon for their livelihoods, and our office is committed to making sure Amazon treats them fairly, transparently, and in accordance with the law.” Attorney General Nick Brown said.

A coalition of 25 states co-led by Attorney General Nick Brown has secured an order temporarily blocking a new rule by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) that would have disrupted the states’ vote-by-mail programs and put voters’ rights at risk ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.  

Washington sues to protect funds for reproductive and preventive healthcare from illegal funding conditions

Washington today joined a coalition of 22 other states in suing to block a new federal policy that threatens to strip healthcare funding from states and providers unless they meet a variety of unlawful conditions. The lawsuit challenges new conditions on Title X funds, a program that has existed for more than 50 years and supports cancer screenings, family planning, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, pregnancy testing and counseling, and other critical preventive healthcare for millions of Americans nationwide.
