OLYMPIA -- Attorney General Christine Gregoire has appointed Assistant Attorney General Mary Sue Wilson as the new chief of the Fish, Wildlife and Parks Division.

The division represents the Department of Fish and Wildlife and the State Parks and Recreation Commission. It also assists local prosecutors and provides general information to the public on natural resources issues.

Wilson has been a member of the Ecology Division since 1990, and currently heads the Water Resources Section. She advised the Governor's Water Policy Team and served on the Attorney General's Water Disputes Task Force. She has also worked on water quality, air quality, hazardous waste and shoreline cases as well as tribal, Endangered Species Act, SEPA and APA issues.

Wilson received her BA from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and her Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law. She is an active member of Washington Women Lawyers and has served several terms as an officer at both the state and local level.
