AG prosecutors seek insurance fraud conviction in case against Spokane deputy sheriff

SPOKANE — Prosecutors from the Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s Criminal Litigation Unit are in Spokane today for the start of a trial against a Spokane County Sheriff’s deputy accused of insurance fraud. 

Jeremy Jeske has been charged with two counts of “false claims or proof” for allegedly submitting false claims for property insurance coverage. He’s accused of obtaining coverage then reporting a loss that occurred prior to him securing the coverage.

Jeske is a Spokane County deputy sheriff, and he is currently on administrative leave.

OLYMPIA - Secretary of State Kim Wyman and Attorney General Bob Ferguson are urging consumers to be aware of scam artists exploiting the public’s fear of Ebola.

The two statewide officials said rip-off artists follow media coverage of natural disasters and health scares and then attempt to victimize well-intended charitable donors.

Attorney General Bob Ferguson expresses sympathy for Marysville Pilchuck High School shooting victims

SEATTLE—Attorney General Bob Ferguson issued the following statement after today's deadly shooting at Marysville Pilchuck High School.

“My sympathies go out to the victims of the Marysville Pilchuck High School shooting and their families, and to all the other students, teachers and staff in that community. Today we are united in our grief. I want to express my gratitude to the Marysville Police and other first responders who risked their lives today, as they do every day, to defend our communities from senseless violence.”
