A new state law to help protect financially strapped homeowners from equity skimming and foreclosure rescue scams in Washington goes into effect on June 12.  The new law provides safeguards for people trying to stop the loss of their home and requires new disclosures and responsibilities for individuals claiming to help homeowners avoid foreclosure.
SEATTLE – Attorney General Rob McKenna today reminded parents of the importance of reading video game ratings to ensure that content is suitable for their children. The Attorney General’s Office has received a couple of recent complaints from consumers concerned about violent and sexually explicit content in popular video games.
OLYMPIA – Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna today announced that Facebook has agreed to take significant steps to better protect children on its Web site. McKenna joined attorneys general nationwide in signing an agreement with Facebook, in which they emphasize their shared goal of protecting children from inappropriate content and unwanted contact by adults.
OLYMPIA – Attorney General Rob McKenna was honored with the Washington State PTA’s “Friend of Children” Award during its 95th Annual Convention in SeaTac on Saturday. SEATTLE – A new state government program is helping resolve disputes between manufactured home owners and their landlords. Attorney General Rob McKenna, Sen. Jim Kastama, D-Puyallup, and Rep. Dawn Morrell, D-Puyallup, today announced a new statewide tour to educate homeowners and landlords about their legal rights and how the Attorney General’s Office can help them resolve problems.
The Attorney General’s Office this week named Tim Lang as the new Division Chief of the office’s newly formed Corrections Division.   The new Corrections Division emerged after a reorganization of the Criminal Justice Division (CJD) in the Attorney General’s office earlier this year. The reorganization splits the duties of the larger division into two smaller divisions, in response to its growing size and complexity
As a member of the Washington Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking-- or RUaD-- Attorney General Rob McKenna will join local leaders in Wenatchee tonight for a special town hall meeting on underage drinking.
